End of the season

Let's talk quail.

End of the season

Postby Azgunner » February 5th, 2012, 5:50 am

   Well, here we are at the end of another quail season in Az. what are we supposed to do now?????
I guess it's time to get the pup trained up and spend the long months till next season with him, Smitty and training birds :!:
Hopefully Mother nature will be kind to us and give us a good hatch this spring, then maybe we can limit out a time or two next season :)
Heck, maybe I'll even clean my shotguns :!:

I never went out this last weekend so Friday was my last time out. I closed it out by knocking down a bird & not finding it! In fact my last 3 days were miserable! Bad shooting was the rule. I did make it out with azquailhntr hunter on Thursday. I missed an easy double but at least azquailhunter connected on one. But it always a great time to get together with a fellow hunter!
When quail hunting ends, I start looking north hoping for spring. Snowbirds is one bird I don't like to be around. I am one! It akways is a long 2 months, Feb. & March.
But I hope to back next fall to try it again.

I got in at least 2 hr hunts everyday during the week this last week but, had to work over the weekend    Lexi the pup did a great job for being so young during the tail end of the season. I have a few more pictures that I will get up as soon as I can.

Drae, it was fun to get to know you this year...I will need to see if I can figure out a way to come up and visit you before you head this way...MN Grouse sounds like a fun adventure!

Now i get to turn to trying my hand at dog training...that should be an interesting adventure for me...anyone interested in training together?

Azquailhunter, where are you located?
Might be interested in doing some training depending on location.

I am in So-Cal, I don't think the drive would be worth it. Thanks for the invite anyways though.
